Watershed Education Video

Watersheds - What are they and what do they mean to you?

This 15 minute video was produced through our office with an educational grant from the Southwest Florida Water Management District.  The video was filmed in Highlands County in July 2000.  The video defines watersheds and describes numerous examples of how the average citizen impacts their watershed, including lawn fertilization, septic tanks, stormwater, boating, etc.  The video also provides suggestions to the viewer on ways to reduce their own impact on the environment.  The video is appropriate for groups of all ages and backgrounds and is available to be loaned from our office.  We can also provide the video on CD-ROM at no charge (if you provide the blank CD-ROM) to anyone who would like a copy.  Additional copies have been distributed to schools and libraries.  For more information or to request a presentation of the video by office staff, please contact Clell Ford at 402-6545.
