Lake Million

Lake Million is a small, stained 'muck' type lake.  Based on very limited Lakewatch data collected in 2003, water quality in Lake Lynn is fair  - phosphorus levels are high, but this is probably natural, due to muck soils in the watershed.  Phosphorus levels in Lake Million range from only 80 to 102 ppb (parts per billion) and average a fairly high 92 ppb.  Nitrogen levels range from 760 to 1100 ppb and average 948 ppb.  Algae populations, as estimated by the concentration of chlorophyll in the water, are quite high as a result of the high phosphorus levels found here.  Chlorophyll values range from 76 to 143 ppb, averaging 96 ppb.  The relatively low algae populations result in increased water clarity, which is measured by the depth to which a standardized 'secchi' disc can be seen when lowered into the water.  Secchi depths range from 1.5 to 2.5 feet and average 2 feet.
